Traveling can be fun at any age or stage of life. But for some – travel is cut short due to life’s unexpected limitations. Many of us have witnessed people that need extra care during their travel. We see them at the airport sitting on the side of the gate, at an event alone or even struggling to use adaptive devices with no assistance.

Flying or driving any distance alone can be intimidating and sometimes almost impossible to navigate. The landscape of airlines, and available staff to assist those who need it, has changed over the years. In fact, the Government Accountability Office released a study in 2017 that showed there were 29,312 disability-related complaints directed at U.S. Airlines that year. Most of those complaints being that the airline failed to provide the assistance required for that individual. This was especially true for individuals that needed wheelchair assistance. (1)

Thankfully there are options whether it is a weekend event or, if you need someone to assist with connecting flights on a long-awaited trip. That’s where we come in.

We at Graceful In Home Healthcare give our community the option to have one of our qualified companions accompany you or a loved one during your travel. We assist you throughout the trip and ensure you no longer have to miss out on the joys of travel or have concerns about a loved one making the journey alone.
